Neilson Park Creative Centre has two beautiful, bright galleries that are available for rental in 2018 and 2019. We welcome artwork from individual artists, artist collectives, independent curators and other organizations. Exhibitions usually run for three weeks. Spring to Attention

Come check out our Member’s Choice Exhibition featuring multi-media artwork from all resident group members at Neilson Park, including the Calligraphers Art Guild of Toronto, Etobicoke Art Group, Humber Valley Art Club, Etobicoke Handweavers and Spinners, the Etobicoke Rugcrafters, and the Etobicoke Quilters.

Every year the Etobicoke Hand Weavers and Spinners Guild’s executive poses a challenge to their members. This year they asked their members to embellish a 12"x12" pillow. The members could use any weaving, knitting or felting technique that they desired. They were encouraged to take this opportunity to try a new technique or weaving pattern. This exhibition also showcases other pieces the members have created throughout the year.

Becca Wijshijer is a Toronto-based artist currently completing their BFA in printmaking at OCAD University. Through a diversity of mediums, such as intaglio, silkscreen, drawing, painting and textile, Becca explores themes love, isolation, mental health, recovery and survival.

Neilson Park Creative Centre is hosting a spring sale to showcase resident groups' projects and a variety of vendors' works. This will include Rugcrafting, Calligraphy, Fibre Art and Quilted items. Vendors' booths will have jewellery, stained glass, paintings, sculptures, wood carving, pottery, and artwork for sale.

The Handmade sale coincides with World Wide Knit in Public Day and the Centre will be hosting all interested knitters.

Admission is free. Please join us to enjoy the creativity of these artisans.

Calligraphic Arts Guild of Toronto


Our annual members’ Exhibition is coming up!  It will be installed in the hall gallery at NPCC on the evening of Wednesday, May 24 and will run to closing on Sunday, June 11.  Our theme this year is Canadian Confederation and will feature calligraphic artwork in honour of our country’s 150th anniversary.  We will also have a reception open to the public starting at 7 pm, Thursday, June 8th to meet the artists, talk about the work and have some lovely refreshments.  Please come and join in our celebration of calligraphy and Canada!




HVACHumber Valley Art Club

Pauline Holancin - Watercolour  -  Wednesday, May 24 & 31  ($80)  10 - 3:30 p.m.

Pauline will demonstrate her love of the Canadian landscape and spring flowers, in her easy and relaxed manner.  The workshop will focus on composition, simplification of subject matter and the bold use of colour and design elements.  

Pauline is an elected member of the CSPWC, a signature members of the TWS and a founding member of the Vodka Painters of Ontario.  This workshop is suitable for students at all levels.
