The Calligraphic Arts Guild of Toronto (CAGT) was founded in 1974 by Calligrapher Alf Ebsen and incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in 1975. A resident group at NPCC for almost 20 years, CAGT has continued to provide opportunities for the study of calligraphy, its history, cultural traditions and application for all ages through classes, workshops and exhibitions.
Meetings 2017 - 2018
CAGT meets at Neilson Park Creative Centre (NPCC). The second Thursday of the month at 6:30 p.m. or Sunday afternoons at 1:00 p.m. as scheduled.
Dates: September 14, October 12, November 9, December 14, 2017 and January 14, February 11, March 8, April 12, May 10 and June 14, 2018.
Regular membership is open to all, regardless of calligraphic ability. Yearly fee September to August is only $125.00, including the NPCC membership of $100.00 with access to Guild classes, workshops, library resources, CAGT exhibitions and NPCC privileges such as discounts to stores and Art Galleries. Mark your calendars! October 29, 2017 CAGT members will be demonstrating at Scriptus Toronto’s Pen and Writing Show, Toronto Reference Library, 789 Yong Street, Toronto 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
