Panel Presentation and Q & A
The leadership of Visual Arts Mississauga (VAM)
Michael Giguere, Chairman of the Board at VAM
and Annis Karpenko, Executive Director

At a recent change management workshop at NPCC (Sunday, October 1, 2017), there was recognition that opportunities could arise from the strategic planning work being done – that additional revenues would be available if NPCC were a registered charity, that a revitalized committee structure could strengthen the voice for all members and that serving a broader, diverse community is the right move.

But there was also a recognition that there were risks NPCC could face – concerns about communications, that members could experience fatigue processing significant changes; several members asked if there were examples of community based visual arts organizations that had gone through a major strategic planning process, and lived to tell the tale!

The leadership of Visual Arts Mississauga (VAM) - Michael Giguere, Chairman of the Board at VAM and Annis Karpenko, Executive Director - have graciously accepted the invitation from NPCC to share their story with NPCC members. Please join Michael and Annis for a panel presentation and Q & A session as they describe their voyage.

Michael Giguere was elected to the Board in April 2015. He is the principal of Array Strategies, a management consulting company that specializes in management systems development and organizational improvement.  Giguere has an established reputation in assisting organizations with crystallizing their vision, defining their mission and establishing suitable objectives and metrics to move them toward their goals.

Giguere has over 30 years’ experience in implementing, auditing and interpreting internationally recognized management standards associated with such organizational facets as risk, quality, health and safety and the environment.

Giguere served as the Director of Registration Services at KPMG Quality Registrar Inc. – a global network of professional firms providing audit, advisory and tax services.  He was with KPMG for over 8 years. Giguere is also a trainer in management systems and process auditing. In addition to the foregoing for profit related work Giguere served for 2 years on the board of the Canadian Red Cross, Toronto Chapter as Audit Chair.
