Scott Cooper
Scott was born in Toronto and graduated from the Ontario College of Art (now OCAD) in 1978. Although his primary area of interest was illustration, he spent a great deal of time in the Fine Arts department. He still regrets that there was not a comics and cartooning course available at that time.
Scott has over twenty years experience as a freelance and studio illustrator and designer, working in advertising and communications, animation and education. His drawings and paintings of the figure and urban landscapes have appeared in many group and juried shows.
At the urging of several colleagues Scott began teaching early in the new millennium, and discovered he enjoyed it. He has taught cartooning, drawing and life drawing at the Mississauga Valley School of Art, Barry Coombs’ Studio, the Art Gallery of Ontario School and Visual Arts Mississauga. He is also currently involved with VAM's ArtReach program, in-class workshops for elementary schools, and the related school mural program, Off the Wallz.

Kal Honey
Kal describes himself as…
"a visual artist working in mixed media, with a Pop Art sensibility, often including text, humble materials and the graphics associated with bicycle racing. All applied with a refined design sensibility elevating the raw ingredients through a kind of alchemical process in my studio, revealing their subtle (and not-so) pleasures."
Kal is an award-winning graduate of OCAD, trained as a graphic designer. After 20 years' experience, his focus has shifted more and more to his artistic practice, so that art and teaching have become his primary occupations. Kal's work in mixed media explores the alchemical magic that can be created by combining rough-and-ready materials like corrugated cardboard, staples, plywood and found objects with a highly refined aesthetic. As an instructor, he likes to create an environment that is at once supportive and adventurous: for it is only from a place of safety that one can feel free to take the necessary risks to extend one's limits. Kal teaches at Fleming College, the Koffler Centre of the Arts and Station Gallery in Whitby. In addition to Neilson Park Creative Centre, he has taught at various other art groups, including Visual Arts Mississauga and the Markham Group of Artists.

Carol B. Jones
Carol is a native of Etobicoke who was introduced to photography while studying urban geography at the University of Toronto. In her own words:
"I quickly discovered I had a good eye. After receiving my Bachelor of Arts, I worked in the trust industry, and then for a property development company. Photography was my favourite creative outlet. Several years ago, I began exhibiting and selling my photographs. Positive feedback encouraged me to devote more time to photography.
I enjoy hiking, cycling and cross country skiing. What makes you joyful? For me, it is being outdoors exploring a particular place when the light is just right, and capturing the essence of that place with my camera. I am fortunate and thankful to be pursing my passion of photography."

Kim Lee Kho
An award-winning visual artist and graphic designer, Kim’s work includes painting, drawing and photo-based mixed media - both figurative and non-objective. In the summer of 2009, Kim received a full scholarship for the Toni Onley Artists' Project, a professional art residency in Wells, BC. That same summer, she attended the Prairie North Creative Residency in Grande Prairie, AB. Those experiences (among others) have allowed Kim the opportunity to work with numerous mentoring and participating artists representing widely divergent artistic points of view and practices. An articulate and sensitive instructor, she likes to create a supportive, inspiring and adventurous atmosphere for her students, while encouraging them along their individual paths. She teaches at the Koffler Centre for the Arts in Toronto, as well as offering a variety of workshops at numerous community art groups throughout the GTA.
In her own words…
I am a visual artist and artist-instructor with 20+ years as a graphic designer and art director. My family is full of both artists and scientific minds which has doubtless influenced my artistic investigations. I am inclined to work in series so I can explore an idea in depth. As well, even when working with traditional subject matter, my approach is experimental and adventurous in choosing or developing materials, formats, processes and building the work itself.
My media include: drawing, painting and photo-based mixed media. Non-objective, figurative and portraiture have been my major interests thus far.
As an art instructor my topics have included: drawing, life drawing (int/adv), studio painting, photo-based mixed media, portraiture - both basic and experimental, Hands-On Art History and contemporary art issues; by art schools and community art groups.
