Neilson Park Creative Centre is pleased to present Tanzina Amin: The Journey Home, the artist’s fifth solo exhibition in Toronto.
The Journey Home invites the viewer to witness Tanzina’s journey of self-discovery. Her healing journey led her to ponder her perceptions of who she was and where she belonged. Along the way, she discovered that home is, in fact, within oneself.
Tanzina’s evocative artworks make you pause, while inviting you to embark on your own introspective voyage, resonating with the universal quest for identity, and celebrating the beauty of embracing one’s true self as the ultimate destination.
Art has always been Tanzina’s refuge from the demands of a fast-paced life, and she channels this passion into her creations. Following a series of personal losses, Tanzina’s career and lifestyle priorities completely shifted in 2019. She decided to leave the corporate world and dedicate her time to art and holistic wellness.
As part of her healing journey, Tanzina started volunteering at a hospice, got certified in Palliative Volunteer Work, Bereavement Support and Healing with the Arts. She researched the benefits of energy healing, mindfulness and meditation, becoming a Reiki Master and a member of The Labyrinth Society.
In this exhibition, Tanzina seamlessly integrates art, wellness, and healing as a testament to the transformative power of creativity and self-discovery. This eclectic collection of paintings, created through the artist’s journey “home”, invites others to find solace and inspiration in the pursuit of inner peace and self-awareness.
