Level: Beginner to Advanced
In this calligraphy class, beginner students will be introduced to a script of their choice: Basic Italic, Gothic or Uncial. Writers with broad nib experience will work towards beautiful letters applied in pleasing layouts. Projects can include a card for the festive season however, if you have a personal project, Mark will be able to help you. This session will employ different writing tools such as a broad brush and a drafting-ruling pen. Students will use colour for the illumination of a letter and apply gold leaf. Required items and can be purchased below store costs from the instructor on the first day of the session: Pilot pen, Rhodia paper pad, Pen holder, Ink, Mitchell nib with reservoir, Gold leaf, Pilot pen of 2.4mm width. Cash or cheque accepted. Mitchell steel nibs and other tools will also be made available for purchase. Mark is a founding member of the Calligraphic Arts Guild of Toronto.
