Knots symbolize the connection people have in love. In this special calligraphy workshop, students will participate in the wonderful art of creating knotting literature. In medieval and renaissance times, a love knot was given as a love token. In stories of sailor’s lives at sea, love knots often make appearances. Even in fine jewelry, we see elegantly crafted knots that symbolize the bonds of love. Create your own with many inspiring examples available in class and write your own message of love in its beautiful weaving pathway. This class is for all levels and beginners are welcome. A Pilot pen of 2.4mm width ($20) or calligraphic felt tip markers ($4), and steel nibs ($2) will be available for purchase in class. Mark will supply you with papers and final printed cards. Bring your coloured pencils to embellish your final creation. Any purchases can either be in cash or cheque to the instructor. Mark Lurz is a founding member of the Calligraphic Arts Guild of Toronto. He has been teaching for over 50 years and has executed prestigious assignments for the film industry and the government.
