In this exciting series of clay classes, participants are free to make anything they like. They will have the opportunity to experiment with different types of hand-build construction techniques such as pinching, to create hollow forms like bowls or cups, or coiling, which involves stacking thin ropes of clay to create a form. This technique is suitable for building larger more complex shapes such as vases or sculptures. Slab building will also be introduced and includes cutting and re assembling pieces to take on desired shapes. Each technique offers its unique benefits and challenges, allowing artists to choose the most suitable method for their creative vision and skill level. Participants will be able to stain their works with colour. Join Maria Ibara (Feru), globe-trotting artist as she takes you through everything she can offer from her over 35 year career of sculpture, 2D art-making and teaching.
