Dimensional Paper Sculpture – Building a Structured Paper Environment in a Contained Space

Thursday, January 23 to Thursday, January 30, 2025
9:30 am - 12:30 pm
$90.00 (with HST $101.7)
Location: At Centre
Sessions: 2 Thursdays
Instructor: Yael Brotman
Level: All Levels

In this paper sculpture and dimensional art workshop, participants will learn how to create 3D curves out of flat sheets of foam core and how to construct stairs, corners, and other architectural elements that could be used in the participants’ own fanciful constructions. The model-sized structures or environments will be self-supporting and will also allow students to bring in and use their own re-cycled prints, drawings, or paintings on paper. Various low tech materials and tools will be required: Tape, glue, scissors, x-tacto knives, foam core, Japanese papers or other light weight papers. Japanese paper is recommended as it provides beautiful results in texture, can take paint in attractive way and can be found in a variety of weights and translucency ranges and types.
