Learn to play acoustic guitar and sing along with the songs you are playing! This course is designed for the absolute beginner or for folks with some beginner experience on the guitar. Learn at your own pace and enjoy playing and singing with the group. The course will cover all the basics: holding the guitar, hand positions, open chords, strumming technique, finger style playing, reading chord charts and other musical notation, all while learning to play and sing familiar tunes in a supportive environment. Participants will need to bring an acoustic guitar for this course. No guitar? If you want to try out guitar but are not sure enough to buy one yet. Carol suggests renting a guitar with case from Long and McQuade in Mississauga or from Kaos music in Etobicoke. Have fun, learn a new skill and improve your memory!
