If you have ever painted still life or natural landscapes, you have likely encountered the challenge of capturing how light interacts with unconventional reflective surfaces like metal, glass, or water.
These surfaces create dazzling, elusive effects that can be difficult to replicate. Whether your
style is realistic or otherwise, you may have found these reflections especially challenging to
paint. This short-term course, taught by award-winning watercolour artist Yuqian Sun, focuses on
observational techniques and painting methods aimed at problem-solving. The course includes a
wealth of curated reference photos to practice with and refine your skills. After some instruction, you will become much more experienced and confident the next time you paint these subjects.
Due to the challenging nature of these subjects, this course is designed for experienced watercolour painters that are comfortable with using their paper, paints and brushes.
