Collagraph is a word derived from the Greek words ‘kolla’ meaning glue and ‘graph’, to draw. This printmaking method is an exciting way to create dynamic works of art while experimenting with ordinary materials and found items. There are many ways to approach creating a collagraph plate and each approach to forming an image can produce different and very artistically pleasing results! As the inks, paint or materials are hand mixed and applied, each print emerges as unique as it is rolled through the press. Join Helen McCusker, Print Maker, Pastel Artist and Illustrator of over 40 years to learn the process of collagraph printmaking, understand the technical aspects of printmaking, learn how to apply a variety of materials and to gain experience in using a traditional press.
