This Surrealist Still Life workshop will offer you the opportunity to dive into the world of the uncanny and the dreamlike, learning to transform ordinary objects into extraordinary compositions. Starting with an object of your choosing, we will experiment with juxtaposition, scale, and unusual perspectives, pushing the boundaries of reality in your artwork. The workshop will challenge you to use your imagination, intuition and free association by reinterpreting everyday items, while at the same time addressing the technical aspects of observational painting. Whether you’re new to surrealism or looking to deepen your practice, this workshop will help you to unlock your subconscious and infuse your still life paintings with unexpected twists and dreamlike elements. Artist Vitaly Medvedovsky MFA, Painting, Concordia University and BFA, OCAD has taught and exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Stuttgart and Berlin.
