Take this step-by-step class to develop your muscle in straight portraiture and observational skills to start. Learn how to see, then take the leap towards implementing techniques to map out a new, artful image. Experiment and augment by employing a concept or rule, mannerist style, methods of splash technique, image layering or pivoting, isolating colour or distilling shape. Alistair Magee is a Portrait Artist and an Art Instructor of 40 years whose works are collected by museums and cultural establishments in Canada and Europe. He will provide guidance to students of all levels and will offer grounding reference to figurative artists Gerhard Richter, Lucien Freud, Frank Auerbach, Francis Bacon, David Hockney and others.
