Families with children between the ages of 5-12 are invited to join in this wonderful workshop with Anishinaabe artist Mark Seabrook to learn about Woodland Style art, Indigenous culture and Anishinaabe traditional teachings and stories from Manitoulin Island! This spring season, the significance of the Power Bird is in focus. Participants will learn about how birds are often seen as spiritual messengers who bridge the natural world with the spirit world and will learn to draw then colour or paint their unique works of art. While Mark will guide participants as they gain an understanding of the significance of symbols, colours and wildlife in other Anishinaabe works. All materials are included.
