Established in 1985 the Toronto Watercolour Society is a not-for-profit organization that has grown to over 150 members across the GTA. Many are accomplished and professional painters with national and international recognition. TWS mounts two juried exhibitions each year with a number of awards granted., Through these exhibitions and many other educational activities, the Society seeks to provide the nurturing strength of a collective identity and to inspire and encourage its members in the pursuit of personal expression through the exploration of the creative potential of water-based media.

The Toronto Watercolour Society has earned a reputation throughout Ontario for its continued commitment to the development of its members skills in watercolour, the quality of its exhibitions, and the exciting work of its member artists. Since its founding the TWS has mounted over 80 juried exhibitions across Toronto.

Membership is open to anyone 19 years and older, living in the Greater Toronto Area and is interested in painting in watercolours.
