Sessions: 5 Days

Level: Ages 7-9

Make your mark as an artist… or make a million! In this session the younger children will enjoy mixed media printmaking using stamps, rollers, dot making tools and more! They will then venture into exploring other art materials while creating flexible and freeing projects inspired by celebrated international artists. Projects using acrylic and watercolour paint, pastel, ink, dough, clay, found objects, unique papers and more will keep hands busy, and step-by-step instruction will help young artists gain confidence and understanding of process. Campers of all age groups create like pros in our sunlit art studios with a view of the beautiful, wooded park. The 9-11 and 11-14 age groups will enjoy a deeper look at the some of the most celebrated contemporary artists and historically significant master painters as they explore formal techniques in composition with emphasis on balance, proportion, perspective, line, shading, colour, and texture. Smaller projects in still life and portraiture will round out the week. Projects will be tuned to the skills and interests of each age group and classes are led by our wonderful team of fun, kind and supportive art instructors and counsellors who are also experienced in child and youth care. All materials are included.
