9:30 am – 12:30 pm
Sessions: 4 Tuesdays
Instructor: Alistair Magee
Level: All Levels
Location: At Centre

Students of all levels will be guided through a session in acrylic portraiture techniques to broaden skills and experiment with new and different approaches to painting. Alistair, MFA, will begin with basic structure and composition planning and will then work with the group by demonstrating techniques and offering individualized support. Students will expand their repertoire of brushstrokes, explore balance, proportion, and focal point through colour use and observation exercises, and bring focus and confidence to their use of line and shade as they define shape and form. Alistair is a Portrait Artist and an Art Instructor of 40 years whose works are collected by museums and cultural establishments in Canada and Europe. Examples and presentations will be provided for inspiration and students are welcome to bring their own refence images. For a materials list, please check our website.
