Participants can choose to create a cup, bowl, vase, or anything they like while receiving plenty of guidance from Shiva. They’ll learn a variety of hand-build pottery techniques and will build skills in forming clay and adding designs using stamping or carving methods before shaping it into its final form. After drying, all the pieces will be kiln-fired twice after students have selected from a variety of single glaze colour swatches for their projects. Glaze will be applied off site and pottery will be made available for pick up at NPCC after kiln firing. A fee of $25 per student for 2 lbs of clay, kiln firing and glaze is to be paid in cash directly to the instructor at the start of each class as supplies are required. Tools and forming implements will be provided by the instructor for use in class. For a full materials list, please check our website.
