A process-based painting workshop where participants learn how an abstract image can develop through change, experimentation, and visual editing. Rather than beginning with a fixed plan, participants will move through guided stages: colour, gesture, layering, covering, scraping, veiling, finding forms, and resolving the composition. The workshop would show how accidents, revisions, and unexpected marks can become part of a stronger painting. The focus is on helping participants understand abstraction as an active process of decision-making rather than something random or intimidating. Artist Instructor Veronika Bondarenko, BFA, OCAD, will include a lesson about abstraction throughout history, artists and movements who embraced chance and process.
